About

I began drawing at an early age as a way of personally connecting with the interesting things around me. I knew my career path should then lead toward illustration, so I followed it from Iowa State University to the Kansas City Art Institute, where I earned my BFA.

Today, my work is driven strongly by emotion. My inspiration begins with Impressionism, then taps into both the heart and fringes of popular culture to reflect a visceral human energy with every flowing stroke, expressive color, and arresting composition.

Home is somewhere over Bull Shoals Lake, in southern Missouri, where I intermitently enjoy weight training, writing, taking occasionally in-focus photographs, and attempting to record another hole-in-one.
